Affiliated teams

FSR sponsors programs, events, and teams. Two FTC teams that we sponsor are made up of middle and high school age students from any area schools, including homeschoolers.  According to FIRST (http://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/ftc), FTC is designed for students in grades 7-12 to compete head to head, using a sports model. Teams are responsible for designing, building, and programming their robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams.   Their volunteer mentors often have backgrounds in science or engineering, but that is not a requirement.

Applications are available online and students sign up in May-July.  The competition season begins in September and continues through at least February. Teams typically meet twice per week.
