What does one promising area FTC student have in common with one of the fastest drivers in NASCAR history – four-time champion, Jeff Gordon?
This spring both will be sponsored by Axalta Coating Systems, one of the newest corporate donors to FSR.
This year, Axalta Coating Systems will award one (1) $2,500 scholarship to a DE high school senior participating in the Delaware FIRST Tech Challenge. Their goal is to help exceptionally promising students reach their full potential through higher education.
FSR encourages all Delaware FTC seniors to consider applying. The deadline is May 23 noon EST.
Applicants must email their completed application form along with their high school transcript to First State Robotics. They will be notified of submission and award status by Friday, June 6, 2014. The scholarships are non-renewable.
To be eligible applicant must be
- A high school senior in 2013/2014 school year and must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
- An active participant on a Delaware FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics team
- Accepted as full-time student at a college or accredited trade school
- Planning to attend an accredited college starting fall, 2014, and work towards a STEM based certification or degree
