We’re not talking trash – we’re cleaning it up!  In the 2015 FIRST® LEGO® League TRASH TREKSM Challenge, 290,000 children ages 9 to 16* from over 80 countries will explore the fascinating world of trash.  From collection, to sorting, to smart production and reuse, there is more to your trash than meets the eye.  Join FIRST LEGO League teams on a Trash Trek to discover the hidden (or not so hidden) world of trash!

 

  • Team registrations have begun and will be accepted until all slots are filled, usually in early to mid-September. For information about FLL team registration, look here

2015 FIRST Future Innovator Challenge

Our teams work like crazy to solve engineering and design challenges and in the process apply science, math, coding, and communication skills. Colleges and universities recognize the potential in our students and their work. Millions of dollars of scholarships are available each year…to learn about some of the 2015 scholarships, click here.

Another special opportunity for students to demonstrate excellence in innovation begins this month. FRC and FTC students can participate in the drive to address some of the grand engineering challenges– clean water, reliable, useful data in healthcare, and more.

The Abbott Fund is sponsoring the FIRST Future Innovators Award. The 2015 competition launches  May 12 with submission deadline of October 30, 2015. Top prize is a $5000 cash award, and two runners-up will win $2500 each. To learn more… Visit usfirst.org.

Delaware teams to attend international robotics competition

2014 FIRST Robotics Challenge World Championship

Two FSR teams– MOE FRC and MOE FTC– travel to St. Louis this week to participate in FIRST World Championship competition events. MOE FRC is scheduled to compete in qualifying rounds on the Galileo field. MOE FTC is scheduled for qualifying rounds on the Edison field.

In addition, two Delaware students, Amy Andrews and Emma Onstad, both from FTC team 8528 are competing for FTC Dean’s list award. The 10 award winners (chosen from 101 finalists) will be announced at the FIRST Championship Opening Ceremony, Thursday, April 23 at 6 P.M. in the America’s Center, Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis.
